Building Energy Solution Participates in Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at BOCES

SYRACUSE—Building Energy Solutions participated in a ribbon cutting ceremony at the Madison-Oneida BOCES for the announcement of their new Cogeneration Upgrade Project.

Building Energy Solutions was the prime consultant for the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) funded project under its CHP Demonstration Program. There are six 100 kW units operating in parallel and standby mode serving the entire campus. This new project also allows BOCES' power to stay on during power outages and will allow the site to be used as a regional emergency shelter for the Red Cross.

Participants in the ribbon cutting ceremony included Senator David Valesky, Robert Callender, Vice President of Programs and Acting President of NYSERDA, Jackie Starks, District Superintendent at Madison-Oneida BOCES, Rae Butler, P.E., Principal, Building Energy Solutions, llc, Red Cross representatives, and local school administrators.

"We are proud to have been the engineering firm chosen to design this cogeneration project – a first of its kind – which will provide BOCES with clean, reliable energy, and lower overall energy costs," Rae Butler owner of Building Energy Solutions said.

Building Energy Solutions will be working with BOCES over the next five years to verify the energy savings and operations.
